Moderation & control of desires are guarantor of success: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Addressing the training session attended by senior students of COSIS, President Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has said that it is our mission to protect the students from the scourges of extremism, terrorism and drugs and make them a patriotic and productive citizens of this country. He said that cleanliness, mental concentration, control of one's ill-commanding self and human attributes of moderation and tolerance are the guarantee of our success in this world.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri advised the students to consider their student days a great opportunity of learning, emphasizing that these days will never come back. He said that love for book-reading makes us a true learner in addition to helping us carve our path professionally. He said as a learner of knowledge, we should keep our thoughts clean and keep our attention focused on Allah Almighty and the Holy Prophet (pbuh). He said that moderation is the best strategy while dealing with the matters of everyday life. He said that one of the attributes that inform the followers of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) is that of tolerance and moderation. He said that this attribute can be acquired through practice and one it becomes part of our lives, it makes our personalities dignified. He said that the Holy Prophet (pbuh) was a practical manifestation of moderation in the fulfilment of day-to-day responsibilities.

COSIS Principal Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Prof Nawaz Zafar, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Hazarvi, Dr Shafaqat Ali Baghdadi, Dr Mohibullah Azhar, Noorullah Siddiqui, Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi, Abdul Sattar Minhajian and Muhammad Sanaullah also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Shah Waliullah Muhaddis Dehlawi has given a recipe to get rid of bad thoughts. He has advised that one should make one's mind the watchman over one's heart; if one is tempted by carnal desires and ill thoughts, one should always ponder, for the human mind always guides with regards to the likely outcome of thoughts. He said that we should seriously weigh the pros and cons of our thoughts and consider the consequences of our actions. He said that thoughts and teachings that reflect extremism of sorts, one should stay away from them and instead those thoughts that are moderate.

Dr Hussain Qadri said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has taught his workers to love humanity. He said that tolerance, forgiveness and a relationship of kindness with our relatives and friends are the essence of our deeds.
